Operating Grants are designed to help defray the normal operating costs of carrying out a specific research proposal and provide funding for a maximum of two years.

Revised for 2010 Revised for 2010: only investigators who have held a faculty appointment for not longer than five years since receiving their initial appointment at the Assistant Professor (or equivalent) level at a Manitoba University at the time of application are eligible to apply.

Also eligible to apply are investigators who have been awarded a PhD degree within the last three years but have held an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor (or equivalent) rank or above in the Province of Manitoba for a period of more than five years.

Eligibility

Also eligible to apply to the 2009 competition are investigators who have been awarded a PhD degree within the last three years but have held an academic appointment at the Assistant Professor (or equivalent) rank or above in the Province of Manitoba for a period of more than five years.

Each investigator is limited to one (individual or joint) operating grant application per competition. Individuals holding a continuing operating grant from Council are NOT eligible to apply for another operating grant that would become effective during the tenure of their present grant.

Application Instructions At-A-Glance

The checklist below indicates the steps that an applicant will need to follow to submit a hardcopy application to MHRC for the 2009 Operating Grant competition:

Complete an updated online Common CV (to include MRHC specific pages)
Complete and Submit correct # of HARDCOPIES of Application form
Print out and Submit correct # of HARDCOPIES of Common CV as attachment to each application
Note: Your common CV should be printed after the validation stage. You are not required to "Finalize & Submit", as this is required only for eGMS applicants. CCV attachments must be printed out separately
Arrange for supporting letters, and transcripts (if applicable), to be sent to MHRC office
